When enemies become brothers
In Isaiah 19:23-24, we see foreshadowed what Yeshua will do with His body of believers. There, Egypt and Syria are called “my people”, Assyria is called “the work of my hands”, and Israel is called “my inheritance”
We know that salvation is not reserved for just one people, it is free and can be accessed by people from every nation (Galatians 3:28)
The highway described in Isaiah 19, between Egypt and Assyria, symbolizes peace, restoration and friendship.
In Yeshua, the LORD builds a road where there once were walls. Enemies become friends, even Jews and Arabs (Gentiles). Just try to picture these verses in Isaiah 19: three enemy countries worshipping the LORD together – and what a great picture for the global body of Messiah!
Together, regardless of race and gender, like Egypt, Syria, and Israel, all of us, once idol worshippers, now praising the LORD.
The road of this highway is, of course, the cross. It is Yeshua who connects us, first to Himself and then to one another, as different as we may be.
Go out through the gates! Prepare the highway for my people to return!
Smooth out the road; pull out the boulders; raise a flag for all the nations to see.
