Numbers 23:23-24 (NKJV)
“For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob and of Israel, ‘Oh, what God has done!’
Look, a people rises like a lioness, And lifts itself up like a lion;
It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.”
At the end of the operation – at least, that is what he declared – he returned to the Wall, took a tallit and a kippah, and thanked God for the operation. Our prayer is that we can truly see our leadership and the people of Israel as a whole thanking God for what happened and not just praising themselves and Israel’s strength.
The term “A people (arising) like a lion” also rings with Revelation 5:5, which speaks of the Lion of Judah – awakening/appearing.
And we know that one day Israel will be attacked by all the surrounding nations.
Zechariah 12:1-2 (NLT)
This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord: “This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit. I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah.
The Lion of Judah will appear on the Mount of Olives; He will pour out a spirit of grace and supplications that will cause all Israel to open their eyes and look at Him whom they have pierced (verses 10-14).
